What are Heelys?
Heelys are a full-on technical skate shoe with semi-concealed ‘stealth’ wheels in the heels that can be detached for normal walking. Heelys wearers can walk or run into a controlled glide by simply shifting their weight on to their heels, while more advanced riders are developing complex tricks and moves on ramps and railings.
What the difference between the one and two wheeled Heelys?
The Heelys Rebel shown has two wheels in the heel rather than the usual one, this gives the wearer extra stability/balance and is an ideal choice for beginners. All other Heelys have one wheel in each shoe for speed and maneuverability.
What size should I get?
Heelys are a tight fit so we always recommend you go up one full size, if the wearer is between sizes it is best to go up two full sizes as Heelys are not produced in half sizes. If two sizes up is slightly too big, you can always insert an additional insole for added comfort.
If you are still unsure about the size, we have taken the insole out of the Heelys and measured it from heel to toe. You can then compare the sizes by measuring you own insole, sizes are as follows:
Size 12 - 18cm, Size 13 - 19cm, Size 1 - 20cm, Size 2 - 21cm, Size 3 - 22cm, Size 4 - 23cm, Size 5 - 24cm, Size 6 - 25cm, Size 7 - 26cm, Size 8 - 27cm, Size 9 - 28cm, Size 10 - 29cm, Size 11 - 30cm
Are Heelys easy to use?
Like any new sports activity practice makes perfect and to help you learn we will send you a free ‘How to Heel’ DVD with each order. The DVD features an easy to follow guide to get you rolling and top tips to keep your Heelys in perfect condition.
How easy is it to remove the wheels?
Heelys wheels can be removed easily by either pressing hard on the side of the wheel or by using a wheel removal tool which comes free with all one wheel Heelys. To put the wheels back in you simply line up the axles with the housing and push hard, the wheels will click firmly into place.
What are the wheels made from?
Heelys wheels are made from a high quality polyurethane and contain performance ABEC rated bearings, ABEC stands for Annular Bearing Engineers' Committee, this committee works to determine the standards for bearings. So in simple terms these bearings are the best on the market and you’ll be able to roll further on your Heelys with the least amount of effort!
Can I buy replacement wheels?
Yes, replacement wheels can be purchased from our website at www.rawk.com
What are heel plugs?
Heelys wheels can be removed so the shoes can be used as normal trainers. Once the wheel has been taken out, there will be a hole where the wheel has been. Heel plugs can then be inserted in the heel to plug the holes.
Where do I get a wheel tool and heel plugs?
All one wheel Heelys come with a free wheel removal tool and heel plugs. Heel plugs are not available for the Heelys Rebel model, however wheel removal tools can be purchased from www.rawk.com for £3.50.
Which model is the best?
Choosing your Heelys is really down to your own personal taste and ability, the various Heelys models offer different levels of performance. As we have mentioned before the Rebel model with two wheels gives the wearer extra stability/balance and is great for beginners, all other Heelys have one wheel for speed and manoeuvrability. If it's a silky smooth ride you're after then the Reflex is for you with its specially design suspension system, however if high speed performance is your thing then the mega wheel in the Glitz and Torch will not disappoint.
Can I send them back if I want to exchange them for a different size or model?
Yes, if for any reason you would like to return your goods to us, we will be more than happy to offer you a full refund or exchange. There is no time limit to return your goods, all we ask is that the items are returned to us unused in its original packaging.
Are they Heelys, Heeleys or Heelies?
They are often misspelt as Heeleys, Heelies, Healys or Healies but at Rawk we live, breath and love Heelys - thats why we are the UK's largest official Heely dealer.
